Hi all,
guess a few of you know i had a slight leak from the coolant a few days ago. at first i thought it was very serious
, i.e. the head gasket had gone, but then worked out the hose from the turbo coolant return line had a small hole
.
anyway, to fit the new hose was a PITA, but didnt take too long. just had to undo a few coolant hoses, the rad bracket, the front rad top mount plate, the hydraulic hose line that runs in front of the main rad, and loosen the p/s pump.
anyway, got the girl back together ok, but had noticed on takin the hydraulic line off, that the fluid didnt look too healthy. on puttin her back together and topping up the p/s fluid, the autocheck comp no longer gives out a beep and a (!) when i start her up from cold.
she did this now and again from cold. another thing is the level stays more constant, i.e. doesnt drop 2-3 inches as before.
do you think i had an air pocket in the system, or the fluid was just old and needed replacing??
thought it was worth mentioning cos a few out there say they get the dreaded (!) now and again, and to drain and refill like i did took just a few mins and only cost about £3.
